Arrival & Pick-Up

The Acceptance Letter will state the official arrival days for your program. During these days, Glion has a welcome booth in:

  • Geneva Airport open between 7:00 - 17:00 to help transfer students and their luggage to campus.
  • Heathrow Airport between 9:00 – 17:00 with transfers from the airport by taxi or mini-bus to the Glion London Campus.

Please announce your arrival to secure your transfer to the campus.

English Language Assessment

All students are required to present evidence of English proficiency unless they are native English speakers or have three years of full-time, English-taught education. Students who cannot provide a recognized English Language Certificate must sit an English exam (BULATS) at their own charge. See the English Language Assessment documentation for more details.

Pre-Arrival Info: Switzerland

Residence Permit

All students, except Swiss nationals and C-Permit holders, will be required to apply for a residence permit upon arrival in Switzerland. The “Application for a Temporary Residence Permit for Study Purposes” must be completed in the first 48 hours on campus and the Student Affairs department assists students with this. Students must bring a copy of the documents submitted for the application and all students (including Swiss/C-Permit holders) should read the Residence Permit Process.

Health & Accident Insurance

Everyone in Switzerland is required to have valid health and accident insurance. Students will automatically be placed on the school’s health insurance if no valid proof of personal insurance is presented before arrival. There are two ways that a student can validate personal insurance:

  • Students who have the blue European health insurance card with the EU logo can send a copy (front and back) to Admissions.
  • Students who do not have a European health insurance card, but who believe they have the equivalent, can download the Check form for the Equivalent of Swiss Health Insurance (OCC form). This form must be completed by the health insurance company, stamped and sent back to Admissions.

If you do not have the equivalent of Swiss/European health insurance, you should complete the form Applying for Health and Accident Insurance through GIHE and return it to the Admissions department.
