The Bulle Campus
Comtemporary and Dynamic
Bulle is a modern campus, specifically designed for higher education. It is home to the MBA students, postgraduate students (for one semester), and undergraduate students for the last two years of their program. As a primarily residential campus, Bulle proposes a variety of student accommodations in residences and apartment-style buildings.
Bulle and the Surrounding Region
The town of Bulle is located at the heart of Gruyère, a magnificent region famous for its tourist attractions and regional specialties, including the famous gruyère cheese. The town offers a selection of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and many shops and boutiques. The region allows access to outdoor sports activities including cross-country skiing, mountain biking, canyoning, rafting, climbing, paragliding, golf and horseback riding. Bulle campus is just a few minutes walking distance from the center of this charming, fast-growing town.
Bulle is just a 30 minute drive from Montreux on the Lake Leman, and a little more than an hour from Geneva. The nearby city of Fribourg is a university city with numerous attractions, and Bulle is only 30 minutes away from Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Ski slopes are just on the doorstep of the campus with the Moléson resort and the more prestigious resort of Gstaad less than 45 minutes away.
Local tourist attractions in the regions include:
- Medieval Town of Gruyère
- Cailler’s Chocolat Factory in Broc
- Traditional “Marché Folklorique” on Thursdays (summer)
Organized Activities and Student Groups
Bulle campus is the largest campus of GIHE with a student body that is actively involved in campus life and social activities. Students have access to an indoor “rackets” sports club for tennis, badminton, table tennis and squash. On campus, students can join groups and participate in a number of organized events and student groups.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is comprised of 5 elected representatives of the student body. They act as the link between the student body and the administration of GIHE and they work to promote and improve general student welfare. The SGA also occasionally organizes activities to promote good community relations and student integration.
Other student groups, such as the ESE program students and the Graduation Committee, organize activities or events for students on and off campus.
Sport & Social Activities Coordinator regularly proposes outings and events which include both cultural and sporting activities. For example: mountain walks, ski trips, museum visits, tourist attractions and amusement/adventure parks.
