The Alumni Association of Glion: A Worldwide Network
Created in 1964, the Alumni Association of Glion (AAG) is a non-profit organization. Its main purpose is to create and maintain contact between all the Alumni as well as keep alive the famous "Glion Spirit." This international network consists of around 3000 active members in some 100 countries and represents an extremely useful source of employment for graduates of Glion.
Major countries where alumni are based have a representative who organizes regular events for Alumni to meet, share memories, exchange professional opinions, get in touch with each other etc. These reunions are open to all Alumni including those who are not members of the association.
General Assembly
The annual General Assembly is the main Alumni gathering and generally takes place in March over a weekend. The location changes each year, generally alternating Switzerland and another country. This event draws many Alumni from all around the world and includes a General Assembly meeting, sometimes workshops, visits of the area, a gala dinner but above all lots of happiness, fun, emotions and a wonderful get-together!
In addition to the general Assembly, local chapters meet regularly at locations around the world. Whether getting together for a cocktail hour, a reception, or a formal party, Glion alumni create opportunities to connect.
Alumni Website
Alumni have access to one another not just through local meetings, but also through the Alumni Website, an online community that has been specifically designed for Glion graduates. Here, alumni can offer or look for a job, access the directory, contact alumni, or get information about the next event organized by the various national chapters or the Committee.
As Glion is a member of the Laureate International Universities network, graduates also have access to the Laureate Global Career Center; an online community that provides job listings and career education to all of Laureate's alumni.

Luca Carrara – Italy – (Hospitality Post Graduate Certificate - 2005) "The academic aspect was very interesting, as it has provided me with the theoretical skills that I need to succeed as a professional. Learning outside the class was also a great experience, as I built connections, met interesting people, shared experiences, developed and reinforced my personality. In one sentence, I opened my mind to the world. Nowadays one needs adaptability, professionalism, consistency and a strong personality to succeed, and based on my experience, I can say that Glion is the right place where you can get all of this. |

Karine Hyon – France - (BBA - 1999) In addition to operational and specialised analytical skills, Glion gave me the opportunity to develop a taste for teamwork through study cases—and at the same time, to work independently, to enjoy challenges, and to know how to manage my time. But above all, Glion gave me friends and a wonderful international network. The family atmosphere, the care of the faculty, the living environment and the spirit of true friendship all contributed to a unique and fulfilling experience. |

Alexis de La Palme – France - (graduated in 1988) Glion prepared me very well to enter my professional life with confidence, as I knew it would be a great challenge especially in such a demanding industry. Glion is also a fantastic ‘school of life', where I learned not only about others, their value and their emotions, but also about myself, my capabilities, my ambition, my challenges and motivation. |

Catherine Parinaud – France - (graduated in 1987) Since I graduated from Glion, I've had a fascinating career path, which has given me the opportunity to work in France, Switzerland, England and the United States for prestigious hotels and international chains in varied positions—from housekeeping, Food and Beverage, to managing a hotel. Glion opens many doors, and each student is treated as an individual and developed in such a way that he/she becomes an ambassador of this industry and of the school. Glion helped me to apply and reinforce my professional and personal values as well as my sense of work, respect, rigour, listening, detail, passion, excellence and efficiency. |

Edward Tai – China (graduated in 1971) Glion provided me, not only with the know-how and confidence, but also with the right attitude and leadership skills that I require in order to manage a team. These qualities, as well as being passionate about my work, and having common sense, certainly helped me to succeed and grow into the position I'm holding today. I cherish the fond memories of Glion and enjoy going back to Glion to recruit young graduates, as I know their value. |

Otman Yssef– Morocco - (BBA – 2003) Glion is much more than a school—it's a life path, a human size group of international students and world-class academic teachers living together, sharing much more than theoretical knowledge, give and take. At Glion, I experienced tolerance and respect for others. I gained a new family of friends, and hope that after gathering enough experience and maturity, I can join Glion again. But this time I'd give back to a new generation of students, all that was given to me throughout the amazing moments I spent in Glion. |
