Admissions Requirements for the Associate and Bachelor Degree Programmes
2. A completed application form with all pertinent attachments and a application fee of CHF. 100.-
3. An essay explaining the student's motivation (minimum of 250 words and maximum of 1,000 words).
4. A copy of Baccalauréat, Maturité, Abitur, A-levels, accredited International High School Diploma, university degree or equivalent. The above must show all courses completed and the grades received.
5. For those who have studied outside Switzerland or the European Union:
5.2 Letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counsellor.
6.2 Cambridge First Certificate: Grade C
6.3 I.E.L.T.S. minimum overall band of 5.0.

Admissions Requirements for the Diploma Programme

3. An essay explaining the student's motivation (minimum of 250 words and maximum of 1,000 words).
4. A copy of Baccalauréat, Maturité, Abitur, A-levels, accredited International High School Diploma, or completed high school secondary education in a recognized institution or work experience. The above must show all courses completed and the grades received.
5. For those who have studied outside Switzerland or the European Union:
5.2 Letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counsellor.
6.2 Cambridge First Certificate: Grade C
6.3 I.E.L.T.S. minimum overall band of 5.0.
8. Students achieving the Diploma with an average of 7.5 may progress to the Degree programme.

Admission Requirements for the Post Graduate Programmes

3. An essay explaining the student's motivation (minimum of 250 words and maximum of 1,000 words).
4. Must have a Degree or equivalent or three years of work experience (not necessarily hospitality or sports based).
5. If English is not your mother tongue, or if you have not spent at least 3 years in an English speaking school, please enclose a copy of one of the following:
5.2 Cambridge First Certificate: Grade C.
5.3 I.E.L.T.S minimum overall band of 5.0.

Admissions Requirements for the Master of Education - Post Graduate Programme in Educational Management
This programme is offered by Glion Institute of Higher Education, Bulle Campus. Admission is through the Registrar at Glion Institute of Higher Education. The programme is taught in English and therefore the level of English should be appropriate.
2. Must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent or over five years of documented work experience at an appropriate level.
3. If English is not your mother tongue, or if you have not spent at least 3 years in an English speaking school, please enclose a copy of one of the following:
3.2 Cambridge First Certificate: Grade B.
3.3 I.E.L.T.S minimum overall band of 5.5.

Admissions Requirements for the Master of Business Administration
The administration of the registration process is handled in Switzerland by the Registrar of Glion Institute of Higher Education.
Once the application form, documents and registration fee are received, the registrar will evaluate the application.
2. A Bachelor Degree preferably in Hospitality, Tourism or Leisure Management or a Business Degree or equivalent qualification. Mature students with appropriate managerial experience (7-10 years) and a degree may be admitted to a shorter programme (42 credits).
3. If English is not your mother tongue, or if you have not spent at least 3 years in an English speaking school, please enclose a copy of:
3.2 Cambridge First Certificate: Grade B.
3.3 I.E.L.T.S: minimum overall band of 5.5.

Application Details
Once you receive your application, please make sure that you include all the necessary forms before sending it in. Your application package must also include:
- Your application form duly filled and signed by all parties concerned
- A letter of commitment from the financial sponsor
- A bank guarantee
- 2 passport-sized photographs in colour
- A photocopy of the your passport showing the number, the name and expiry date
If accepted, you will receive an official acceptance letter, including information regarding registration dates, accommodation, payment schedule and medical insurance.

Visa Information
Accepted candidates will receive an acceptance letter from the Admissions Department detailing the visa procedure.
For students who need an entry visa, it is imperative to request a STUDENT VISA (not a tourist visa). Students are highly encouraged to apply immediately as it takes at least 2 months to obtain de the visa.
Candidates must make a personal request at the Swiss Embassy / Consulate in their country of residence and present the Institute's attestation. Once the visa approved (after 8 to 12 weeks), the Embassy / Consulate will notify the candidate who then must collect the original visa from the Embassy / Consulate..
Candidates with European Union passports and those from countries with which Switzerland has bilateral agreements, need only to send documents to the school.
Transfer Students
A. From an Associated Institution:
Transfer from associated institutions includes: The European Centre For Tourism Studies, Corfu in Greece; Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, U.S.A.; Regal Constellation College in Toronto, Canada; The International Hotel & Tourism Industry Management School in Bangkok, Thailand; Trinidad & Tobago Hospitality & Tourism Institute; Universidad de Valle de Mexico; Instituto Nacional de Capacitacíon Profesional, Chile; Japan Hotel School; Spokane Community College, US; Escuela International de Hotelería y Turismo, Argentina.
2. Students from these institutions should apply to the Registrar of Glion Institute of Higher Education for the programme of their choice and the Registrar and Director of Academic Affairs will confer and agree the entry point.
3. If English is not your mother tongue, or if you have not spent at least 3 years in an English speaking school, please enclose a copy of:

B. From another Institution:
Glion Institute of Higher Education recognizes credit earned at other accredited institutions and transfer is welcome. Requirements for the decision making process are the following:
2. A letter of recommendation.
3. An official high school transcript, essays and scores from either the SAT or ACT.
4. An official transcript from previous colleges and / or schools and a copy of the programme catalogue.
5. Application for transfer will be made to the Admissions Manager who will confer with the Director of Academic Affairs to agree transferability and entry point.
6. Students with appropriate previous certified learning will be admitted onto the course. The programme that the students will follow will be designed to meet the students' learning needs based on organizational constraints. The programme will be agreed with the Academic Dean and the Director of Academic Affairs. Students who transfer to Glion Institute of Higher Education programmes are required to take at least 30% of the undergraduate programme.

Health Insurance
Health insurance, is compulsory for everyone living in Switzerland and is the student’s responsibility.
The school will automatically enroll and invoice each student for health insurance with a company in Switzerland except for those already living in Switzerland. Once enrolled, there will be no change to the contract until the end of the current semester even if the student leaves the school for whatever reason.
European students and AELE member states
Students who have a private health insurance coverage for Switzerland in accordance with the recent bilateral treaty agreements need to send to Glion Admissions office, prior to their arrival:
- a copy of their blue health insurance card (front and back side).
Other students
Students from any other country who may have a personal health insurance scheme covering them for Switzerland need to send to the Glion Admissions office and prior to their arrival:
- a copy of the their card (front and back side)
- a form called “Check form for the Equivalent of Swiss Health Insurance” which must be signed and stamp by the insurance company. This form will be used for official validation and needs to be duly filled in and mailed or faxed back.
