Suzanna Godfrey

Head of Luxury Marketing and Brand Management

Suzanne has over 25 years of experience in business, marketing and academia. She has worked and taught across the globe and originally joined Glion Institute of Higher Education in 2016.

After graduating from the University of St Andrews, Suzanne furthered her education at HEC Lausanne, securing a Certificate of International Management and Business Studies, and later a Doctorate in Economic Science (specializing in Management).

A professional marketing and communications expert, Suzanne built her career to become an International Account Director, representing leading multinational clients and building brands across an expanded Europe. Her work with Saatchi & Saatchi saw her responsible for the strategic growth and development of a number of their client’s brands, particularly in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Suzanne’s academic career began at the European campus of Thunderbird School of Global Management, where she taught International Marketing Communications to final-year MBA students. She went on to teach as a guest lecturer at other schools, which she combined with being a brand and marketing consultant for her own business in Asia and Europe.

When it comes to education, Suzanne believes that development and self-awareness are just as important as acquiring knowledge and developing skills. Her active learning approach, interactive and exploratory teaching style saw her work as Associate Director for the MBA program at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she also taught Luxury Brand Management and Marketing Communications. She was also a guest lecturer at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne.

Suzanne was appointed Head of Luxury Marketing and Brand Management in August 2017. She is responsible for developing the Luxury Brand Management in Hospitality specialization, equipping students to be future leaders in the industry. She also designs programs for Bachelor’s, Master’s and Executive Education, as well as researching and developing content based on academic theory but also practical application.
