Our Alumni Chapter in the UK has interviewed Karl Hindi, a Glion Alumnus as part of their “a day in the life of” series.

Could you please introduce yourself:

My name is Karl Hindi, I’m French-Lebanese living and working in London UK. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management and graduated in 2012.

What brought you to the UK? How long have you been here for?

I came to London because I was offered a job in one of the finest 5 stars property, The Landmark London Hotel. I have been in London since September 2012.

What was your first role after graduating?

I was offered the management program at The Landmark London Hotel, part of the Leading Hotels of the World. This program consisted of 8 months in Front Office, Group Reservation and finally Event Sales.

Tell us about your current role and summarize it in 3 key points?

Since February 2015, I’m the VIP Customer Relations Manager for Grosvenor Casino. The biggest Casino brand in the UK. My role consists of, identifying, developing and retaining high-end players and increase visits frequency.

What is your typical day in the office?

My usual day start around 6-8pm, I maintain a high level of visibility throughout the club pro-actively contact some players and look after in order to provide the best experience. I plan, develop and implement VIP promotion/events as well, in order to develop and retain the targeted players.

Does you current role match the professional life you imagined having when studying?

I never thought I would be working in a Gambling environment, but I love what I’m doing since every day is a new day.

What are the 3 key trends in your industry right now?

Online Gaming, the importance of VIP Customer Relations Manager within the casino and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).

How would you describe your perfect day off?

Spending time with my wife to be anywhere and anytime.

What is your favorite place in London & why?

Home is my favorite place because it’s our “cocoon”.

It’s a family all around the world.

What have been the challenges of your Glion Alumni life in the UK?

As I work during the evening, it’s a challenge in order to attend the Alumni gathering.
