Top guest speakers make their appearance at GIHE

Glion Institute of Higher Education MBA, 6th and 7th semester students will enjoy a series of lectures on contemporary marketing issues from industry professionals between 12 August and 16 September on GIHE’s Glion campus.

The series kicks off with a lecture from Mr. Robin Simon, Managing Director for Aviation Personnel Switzerland and In-House Trainer for Swiss International Airlines on ‘Outlook & Trends of the Aviation Industry with the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) component in the airline sector’. The next speaker will be Dr. Cecilia Decurtins who has worked in the airline business for over twenty years. Working at the WTO as the Secretariat’s aviation expert for the first Air Transport Review and as an international policy analyst at IATA (International Air Transport Association) has provided Dr. Decurtins with a working knowledge of international policy and global regulatory affairs in the air transport industry.  Her topic is ‘A "Flying" Career’.

Speaking on ‘Business Development in International Markets and Cross Cultural Negotiations’, the first speaker in September is Mr. Gerard Urier who formerly worked for TOTAL (French Oil Company) as Regional Vice-President for N.E Asia for TOTAL Group, based in Tokyo, from 1995 to 2001, Vice-President Exploration and Production for Andean Countries, Vice-President Commercial for Total E&P Indonesia in Jakarta, and Vice-President LNG Projects Africa.

Then GIHE is pleased to invite Ms. Claudia Benassi Faltys, co-founder, board member at the marketing strategy of Sosoftware, an innovative company in the mobile telecom industry. She will address the topic’  ‘How to acquire new customers and maintain loyal customers with or through the social or digital media in the tourism & hospitality industry.’   The series closes with a lecture from Mr. Orlando Lorenzana, Director International Sales for Coin Invest Trust (CIT), located in Liechtenstein on ‘International Marketing in the Numismatic World & precious metals plus insights into being a successful sales professional.’

All lectures help students understand the authentic sales and marketing world, with plenty of opportunity to question practitioners on how issues first raised in the classroom are implemented in real life business situations.
