Frequently asked questions

Is this Master's worth the investment?

Worth depends on your career goals and the specific program you choose. A specialized masters is the right investment if you want the strategic, commercial and operational expertise to build the next generation of wellness and longevity offerings, not just study the trend from the outside.

When you combine that ambition with a masters that builds wellness business models, preventive health and experience design capabilities, backed by a six-month internship or Business Research Project, you have a degree like our Wellness & Longevity specialization, which graduates into a strong track record: 98% of students receive one or more job offers on graduation, with an average of 6 internship offers each.

What is wellness tourism, and how does this Master's build on it?

Wellness tourism covers travel undertaken specifically to maintain or improve health and wellness, from spa retreats to longevity clinics to resorts built around preventive care. Glion’s own reporting on the sector breaks down what the category covers and why it has become one of the fastest-growing parts of global travel.

This specialization takes that same sector and teaches you to build a business inside it. You study the commercial models behind wellness and longevity concepts, then apply that knowledge to hospitality operations, guest behavior, experience design and the real estate and destinations that can host them. That’s the operator’s view of an industry most other content only covers from the traveler’s side.

How is this different from the Guest Experience & Service Design specialization?

Glion’s Master’s in International Hospitality Business offers more than one specialist pathway, and each is built for a different ambition. Both share the same core business foundation in Semester 1.

Our Wellness & Longevity specialization focuses on the business models, operations and experience design specific to wellness, preventive health and longevity concepts. The Guest Experience & Service Design specialization instead develops your expertise in guest experience analytics and service design across the wider hospitality industry, not the wellness sector specifically. Choose this program if your ambition is to build or lead wellness and longevity concepts, not guest experience strategy generally.

How is this different from the Entrepreneurship & Innovation specialization?

Glion’s Master’s in International Hospitality Business offers more than one specialist pathway, and each is built for a different ambition. Both share the same core business foundation in Semester 1.

Our Wellness & Longevity specialization focuses on the business models, operations and experience design specific to wellness, preventive health and longevity concepts. The Entrepreneurship & Innovation specialization instead takes you through the complete entrepreneurial journey, from opportunity recognition and venture creation to entrepreneurial finance and growth, applicable across any sector you choose. Choose this program if your ambition is specifically in wellness and longevity, not venture creation generally.

Should I choose the internship or the Business Research Project?

It depends on how you want to complete your masters and the direction you want your early career to take. A professional internship lets you apply your knowledge within your chosen sector while building experience, contacts and industry credibility. A Business Research Project instead gives you the opportunity to investigate a genuine commercial issue through rigorous research and analysis.

On this specialization, your Industry Business Project already gives you the chance to apply your knowledge to a genuine commercial challenge before Semester 3 begins. Whichever path you choose next, you complete your Master’s with valuable professional experience behind you.

Do I need a hospitality or wellness background to apply?

No single undergraduate background is required for a masters in hospitality business. The best programs are built for graduates and career changers alike, provided you bring the right work ethic and a genuine interest in the sector.

For this specialization, Glion asks for a bachelor’s degree in any relevant field, business or hospitality preferred, and a minimum age of 21 at the start of the program. Semester 1 then builds the business, strategy and leadership foundations every student needs, whatever their starting point, before Semester 2 takes you deep into wellness and longevity business models, operations and experience design.

On this specialization, internship placements could include a Guest Experience Maker role at Six Senses Rome and a Finance Intern position at The Madrid EDITION. Whichever path you choose, you complete your Master’s with valuable professional experience behind you.

What elective should I choose in Semester 2?

The right elective depends on the specific function you want to move into after graduation, not just the topic that sounds most interesting. Think about the day-to-day role you’re aiming for, then let that guide your choice.

On this Master’s, you choose one elective in Semester 2 alongside your core specialization: Brand Identity, Creativity & Storytelling for experience-led branding roles, Strategic Leadership Across Generations for people-management roles, Experience Audit: From Mystery Shopping to Employer Brand for evaluation-focused roles, or Technology & AI in Hospitality for digital and data-driven roles. *Please note that elective courses are subject to change and the options available may differ for each intake.

How much does this Master's cost?

Cost depends on the school, the campus and the program structure, so it pays to choose one that’s transparent about its fees rather than vague on pricing.

For this Master’s, the published fee schedule for the Switzerland track totals CHF 47,300 in compulsory academic expenses across your two campus-based semesters. That covers tuition, academic resources and mandatory insurance. Your internship or Business Research Project semester carries its own separate costs.

When can I start this Master's?

Most hospitality masters run on a twice-yearly intake cycle, whether you’re moving straight from your undergraduate degree or timing a career change around your current role.
This Master’s begins in Spring 2027 and Fall 2027, at Glion’s Switzerland campuses in Glion and Bulle.
