Bachelor of international business FAQs

What can I do after a Bachelor of Hospitality Management?

What can’t you do?! A Bachelor’s in hospitality from the right school opens up career pathways in almost every industry. The world is now one big hospitality economy, with the very best brands understanding the importance of a service-focused approach to business.

If hospitality is your passion, then you can head into hotels and restaurants, or events, luxury retail, and travel. Beyond this, there’s finance, real estate, automotive and jewelry, and even tech and governmental roles, all of which are recruiting our Bachelor’s graduates. You’ll also be prepared for the entrepreneurial pathway – one which many of our alumni take.

Is Hospitality Management related to business?

In order to be successful in hospitality management you’ll need good business acumen. Whether you’re aspiring to be a manager of a hotel, restaurant, luxury retail store or in a corporate role, possessing business-focused expertise and abilities will give you an edge in interviews and enable you to bring the level of value that the very best brands demand.

An understanding of revenue, marketing, business strategy, and leadership are all key in the most sought-after hospitality management roles, right from entry-level positions. When choosing an undergraduate program for your career in hospitality, ensure it is grounded in business, like our own Bachelor’s in International Hospitality Business.

How many years is a Bachelor of hospitality?

Typically a Bachelor’s in hospitality will be a minimum of three years of study time. The Glion Bachelor’s in International Hospitality Business is three and a half years long. As well as the length of the course, be sure to check the content.

You’ll want a good mix of practical and academic elements in order to give you an edge when you head into the working world.

Our own Bachelor’s degree comprises a full first semester in practical arts before students head off into the world on a six-month internship. When they return, they’re transformed as they head into rigorous academic studies, before a second management-level internship. In semesters six and seven, business is the focus, with a real-world business project and finally a specialization to support the student’s chosen career pathway.
