Daily Life
in London

Our London campus is situated in Roehampton, a leafy suburb in the southwest of the capital.

Discover more about life at London campus and get a taste for how our students spend their free time in one of the world’s great cities.

Committees & Clubs

Glion London students drive their own extracurricular experience through committees dedicated to wine & dining, networking, sports, and more.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is elected to represent our student community. Its primary role is to:

  • Ensure students’ voices are heard
  • Organize committees and events
  • Foster leadership development

The Local Area

When it comes to living in London, many say “west is best”, and Roehampton offers an attractive environment that sits between the equally desirable neighbourhoods of Putney, Wimbledon, Richmond and Barnes.

While Glion London students have the opportunity to explore all that the UK capital has to offer, there are also downtime options closer to home.

Riverside relaxation

Putney Embankment is a great place for a stroll, or to grab a drink and a snack. Putney is also home to popular Glion student hangouts Another Brother, MONIES, and Social Brew Cafe.

Parkland picnics

Nearby Richmond Park is a much-loved spot for our students to visit. Walk, run or cycle through the woodlands and you’re likely to spot herds of deer. Plus it’s a great place for a picnic in the warmer weather.

Sports & Activities

Sport is a major part of life in the UK, which has gifted soccer, rugby, golf and tennis to the world. Close to London campus you will find opportunities to engage in:

Individual Sports

Glion London students enjoy specially discounted membership fees at the University of Roehampton (UoR) fitness center.

Team sports

Our students can join UoR teams engaged in badminton, basketball, boxing, cheerleading, soccer, hockey, rugby, tennis, volleyball, and much more.

Spectator sports

The nearest Premier League soccer club to campus is Fulham FC, although all London-based clubs are within reach by public transport.

Sights & Events

London has so much to see and do that the only limits are your time and imagination! Just a few ideas include:

Shop ‘til you drop

London shopping blends famous names such as Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Fortnum & Mason with one-off destinations like Maison Assouline plus the hottest new fashion brands from across the world.

The world under one roof

The city’s museums are truly world-class, and many – including the British Museum, Tate Modern, Victoria & Albert Museum, and National Gallery – are free to visit.

The night is yours

London’s Theatreland is world-famous, as is the city’s vibrant live music and clubbing scene, which encompass all genres and acts of every size.

European Travel

With five international airports in and around the city, plus a host of major railway stations, London puts your chosen destination within easy reach.

See the whole country

From London you can travel by train to all parts of the UK, including perfect weekend destinations like Bath, the beautiful Scottish Highlands, or the picturesque English Cotswolds.

Well-connected airports

Heathrow is one of the world’s best connected airports, with non-stop services to around 200 European destinations. It is reachable from campus in around 35 minutes by car/taxi. London Gatwick is also exceptionally well-connected.
